SULTAN  URGES MUSLIMS TO LOOK FOR NEW MOON OF ZULHIJJA ,1447AH.

His eminence the Sultan of Sokoto Alhaji  Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar has called upon the Nigeria  Muslims  to  search for the crescent moon that will mark the beginning  of the  Zulhijja 1447AH .

‎This was contained in a statement signed by the Wazirin Sokoto and Chairman of the Advisory Committee on Religious Affairs,  Sultanate  Council  Sokoto ,Professor Sambo Wali Junaidu .

According with the  Release ,  Today Sunday 17th May, 2026 which is  equivalent to 29th day of Zulki'ida ,1447AH. is the day to look for the new moon of Zulhijja ,1447AH .

 Nigeria Muslims were therefore requested to start looking for the new moon of Zulhijja 1447 AH. today . It added. 

 Also the  Statement  directed  Muslims across the nation to report its sighting to the nearest  District or village Head for onward  communication to His Eminence the Sultan of Sokoto and the  President Geneneral,  Nigeria  Supreme  Council  for Islamic Affairs  (NSCIA), respectively
