The Zamfara North Senatorial aspirant Dr Sani Abdullahi Wamban Shinkafi has today filed a suit at the Federal High Court Gusau challenging the just concluded APC primary election in Zamfara North Senatorial District, saying that APC, INEC did not follow due process during the exercise.
Speaking to newsmen at the court premises shortly after filing the case, Dr, Shinkafi said, as far as he knows there was no primary election, no concensus hold, but to his surprise he only learned that his opponent Sahabi Ya'u Kaura emerged victorious.
According to Shinkafi, even if the need for concensuss arises, there must be guidelines or procedure to follow, and nothing is done in that regard.
He said, as they are saying concensus was done, during the primary, but they forgot that a consensus to be valid, two conditions must be met: there must be a written agreement, and it must be endorsed by all aspirants.
" I wrote formal complain to the Party and the committee sent from Abuja but nothing is done, therefore I have no option than to carry my case to the court which is my last hope". He explained
Shedding more lights, the plaintiff to the complainant Barrister Bello Galadi said, his client decided to file a case at the Federal High Court Gusau over the non compliant with electoral act rules and regulations governing the primaries.
He called on the court to nullify the primary election entirely in Zamfara North Senatorial Zone and reschedule another day for a fresh election, as according to him there are a lot of irregularities during and the primary election in that zone.
