47 Sokoto Pilgrims Receive Financial Assistance

MAKKAH - No fewer than 47 Sokoto State pilgrims who lost their money during the just-concluded Hajj exercise in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have received financial assistance from the Sokoto State Government.

The affected pilgrims were refunded 50 percent of the amount of money they lost either in Madinah or Makkah.

While monitoring the disbursement of the assistance to the affected pilgrims, the State Deputy Amirul Hajj and Grand Khadi, Alhaji Sodangi Acida, commended Governor Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto, FCNA, for the gesture, describing it as timely and beneficial to the affected pilgrims.
According to him, the intervention would go a long way in easing the difficulties faced by the pilgrims and demonstrates the Governor's commitment to the welfare of the people of Sokoto State.

Earlier, the Chairman of the 2026 Welfare Committee, Alhaji Malami Dan Isha, disclosed that all the 47 affected pilgrims were given 50 percent of the amount they lost during their stay in either Madinah or Makkah.

He recalled that, in addition to the financial assistance, the Sokoto State Government had earlier provided all Sokoto State pilgrims with a Sallah gift of SR1,000 each.

Alhaji Malami Dan Isha called on the pilgrims to continue praying for the sustenance of peace, unity, and prosperity in Sokoto State and Nigeria as a whole.
