OPERATION TSABTACE BIRNIN SHEHU NOT TO WITCH HUNT ANY ONE

The Operation Tsabtace Birnin Shehu being carried out by the Sokoto state Hisbah Board does not meant to witch hunt any one but to ensure a descent society Commandant of the Board, Usman Abdullahi Jatau made the disclosure in an exclusive interview with The path in his office.

 He noted that, at least 17 arrest was made so far in various places in the state metropolis all in a bid to sensitize the historic state from social vices.

The Commandant expressed concern that out of those arrested, 15 are Muslims while 2 are non muslims from
Taraba and Nasarawa states. Another source of concern he noted, elderly people both males and females involve themselves in such unscrupulous acts.

The areas where such arrest was made include Kwannawa, Minannata, Mabera Layin Bugi, some hotels, restaurants and guest houses among others, adding that, 'we have conducted such operation before Sallah festivities. 

He said the law  establishing Hisbah in the state 'mandate us to carry out the operation especially during festivals and marriage ceremonies where social vices are being conducted. A part from the arrest, the Commandant noted that, it is an enormous 
responsibility of the board to make a giant stride in fighting against illicit drugs and alcohols, phone snatching, abusive and vulgar languages particulary by tik talkers and host of others. 

He said the Board is also carrying out its assignment devoid of any politics. Abdullahi Jatau noted that, both major religions of Islam and Christianity have not giving room to commit any offence on earth, attributing the problems of indiscipline to parents and the society in general.

He therefore called on parents and all stake holders to ensure discipline of our offsprings with a view to ensuring a descent society.
