SOKOTO 2027: WHEN AHMED ALIYU WAS FIRMLY AFFIRMED

As a prerequisite for the general elections, parties are expected to conduct primaries to elect from within their aspirants who will bear their flags in the general elections.

 It was in this direction that the State Secretariat of the ruling party in Sokoto was agog when party faithful gathered to renew their trust and confidence in the governance style of Ahmed Aliyu as the governor of the state. 

As a cardinal standpoint, the candidature of those vying for party offices are usually sieved through the apparatus of direct primary elections or Consensus as the case may be. 

The Sokoto arrangement was that of Consensus, as expected there were deafening chants of reassurance and resolve to vote-in Ahmed Aliyu for another term of 4 years when the 2027 general elections come.

The Sokoto declaration was unique in the sense of the fact that Ahmed Aliyu was unchallenged, unopposed, he was the sole aspirant and candidate of the APC for the gubernatorial elections of 2027 as a resounding testament to the trust the good people of the state have in his determination to move the state to higher grounds.

There was one spectacular act that generated emotions amongst people, when Ahmed Aliyu knelt down and begged people for forgiveness. 

He's, and we're all fallible, and he could have in the course of his functions as a governor wronged a lot of people.

That singular illustration of humility and malleability on his part has further endeared him to the people as it takes courage and candour for a governor to publicly knell and ask his people for forgiveness.

Some people from the point of opposition have taken it upon themselves to deride the governor for seeking their forgiveness, well, he has done his part as a humble governor, and the lofty achievements of his administration are glaring and there for all to see, and more projects are in the making to adequately cement his renewal strategy for the state.

 It's objectively moral for the good people of the state to remain steadfast in electing Ahmed Aliyu for another round of projects and programmes that would elevate the state higher in all dimensions of improvement.
