SOKOTO GOVT SPENDS N1BN ON DIGITAL EQUIPMENT FOR RIMA RADIO, TV — MD

The Managing Director, Sokoto State Media Corporation, Alhaji Labaran Lumo Dundaye, has disclosed that the Sokoto State Government has expended over N1 billion on the provision of ultramodern digital facilities for state-owned broadcast stations.
Dundaye spoke on Saturday in Sokoto at the monthly Congress of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Sokoto State Council, held at the NUJ Press Centre, Zuru Road.
He said the digital facilities provided for RIMA Radio, RIMA FM and RIMA Television included two transmitters, editing suites, cameras and other related modern equipment.
According to him, the gesture is part of efforts to fully digitalize the operations of the three stations and expand their reach to the global community through their ICT department.
The Managing Director further disclosed that the state government has provided five operational vehicles to bolster operations of the three broadcast stations.
Dundaye commended journalists in the state for being peace-loving and professional, noting that all sectors, agencies and departments in the state are aware of their contributions to development, especially on sensitive issues of security and religious matters.
